We begin our journey in Sicily's capital city; geographically, economically and culturally. Situated on the north shore of the island, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Palermo is a bustling metropolis full of modern shops and bustling old-world marketplaces, renowned restaurants and vibrant nightlife and incredible architecture mirroring it's long and diverse history. 

This uniquely modern city on Sicily's southwestern coast is known for its extraordinarily rich archaeological legacy and as the agriculture center for the surrounding region. A perfect base for our culinary and historic explorations.

Perched on a cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea, Taormina is surrounded by beaches, nature reserves and breathtaking views of Mount Etna. A beautiful resort town to explore, it's a ideal location for us to visit Sicily's eastern coast and interior landscapes.

The Duchess of Palma welcomes us to her historic home, where we create and enjoy a luncheon with ingredients from our visit to the local marketplace and finish with a tour of the palazzo.

Sicily has a incredible wealth of archeological sites. From Greek to Roman, Carthaginian to Phoenician to name but a few. Amongst those we visit will be these two distinctive sites which merit dedicated time with guides who can provide unique insight and historic perspective.

Sicily is known for its glorious pastries and sweets, made from local ingredients. We visit Caffe Sicilia, made famous on Netflix' "Chef's Table" series and also include a stop at Maria Grammatico's famous Pastry Shop in Erice. In between. lots of opportunities for cannoli, gelatos, sorbets and many other glorious treats.

On this day of exploration, we experience it's stark beauty as well as the vistas of vineyards that have taken advantage of the volcanic soil to craft world-renowned wines. Today's journey also includes a lunch showcasing one estate's wines as well as the olive oil crafted nearby.
